Civica UK Ltd

  • Tested a new 'Web Portal' front end that would allow the general public to interface with our Civil Enforcement system for the first time.
  • Completed Performance testing of the Civil Enforcement product using a Linux based system to throttle the network connection to simulate an internet environment. This allowed the sales team to target customers who didn't have standard business connections, and also provide them with realistic usage statistics.
  • Successfully oversaw the 3 major releases of the Parking software (4.0, 4.1 and 5.0) that were issued to existing and new sites and used to gain new customers with their extended functionality and features.
  • Using previous experience aided the integration of two test teams to be one large all encompassing team that covered various projects. This involved arranging knowledge transfer meetings, and despite the team being a combination of home workers and office workers in two different locations (Leeds and Chesterfield) creating an effective communication flow and healthy atmosphere.

William Hill

  • Tested the successful migration of existing systems from Legacy Servers onto Itanium servers.
  • Part of the team that released a new 'offshore' solution for Arcade games to be Gambling Commission compliant, that involved the release of a new product to the live environment known as 'Vegas'. This included new games and a fully functioning web page.
  • Tested the integration of 3rd party software into a new 'off the shelf' package - this included migration from a UniVerse database to an Informix database, allowing the company to expand into areas that were previously impossible.
  • Successfully oversaw the release of 8 Bonus Packs to the Casino Platform, all of which included the addition of new games and new lobby functionality.
  • Released a new Instant Poker solution to our customer base, allowing customers who were previously unable to play gain access (Mac and Linux users) to the Download Poker client to partake.
 
 

Civica UK Ltd - Parking Enforcement - QA Software Tester (October 2008 - Present)

  • Using previous experience aided the integration of two test teams to be one large all encompassing team that covered various projects.
  • Input to design phase, liaising with project team and product enhancement group which consisted of customers.

William Hill - I.S. Expert Services - Gaming Test Analyst (October 2006 - October 2008)

  • User Acceptance and Front End testing performed on a variety of platforms including Poker, Casino, Bingo and Skill games.
  • Creation and maintenance of script repository before introduction of HP Quality Center.
  • Produced diary-tracking records of work and progress for any active projects, passing them to the Test Team Lead, Senior Test Analyst, Project Team and Business Stakeholders.
  • Performed walkthroughs of test artefacts with the project team members.
  • Provided or assisted in the delivery of the Test Approach and Test Report documentation.
  • Provided test estimates for projects to Test Team Lead.
  • Defect management.
  • Coached and mentored business users in testing processes.

William Hill - Next Gen Project - Test Analyst (July 2007 - January 2008)

  • Part of a project team with 7 contracted staff who were modifying the Application Programming Interface (API) in preparation for a move from Legacy to an Oracle database
  • Testing using fitnesse to automate Java calls and to display response codes and messages that were received from the API.
  • Project involved looking at an Arcade flash front end which included an ASP tier for Game Logic and an Enterprise Java middle tier API speaking to Oracle and UniVerse

William Hill - Internet Customer Services Advisor (September 2005 - October 2006)

  • Primarily responsible for answering client queries via e-mail and telephone and for logging that correspondence.
  • The resolution of queries required an excellent knowledge of betting, Sports, Casino products, Poker products, financial processes and technical issues.
  • Responsibilities include training and assisting fellow staff members, instructing them in the use of software, ensuring they are aware of procedures and relevant procedural changes.
